Coflyt is an intelligent aircraft software that provides peace of mind for aircraft owners, partnerships and flying clubs. Developed by pilots, Coflyt streamlines aircraft ownership and centralizes flight logs, tracks flight maps, analyzes usage, shows aircraft availability, sends status updates to A&Ps, simplifies payments and more! Our growing company has completed two investment rounds and is rapidly expanding. We are seeking a candidate to join us at our headquarters in sunny Pensacola, Florida, home of the Navy’s famous Blue Angels and the relaxed beach life along northwest Florida’s legendary emerald coast.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Ruby on Rails developer responsible for managing our fully-responsive web and mobile application. Your primary focus will be development of server-side logic, definition and maintenance of our central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, robust, secure, and scalable Ruby code
  • Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle, including working with product management and front-line sales team to understand customer user stories.
  • Integration of data storage solutions – Coflyt’s tech stack requires proficiency in Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Javascript and React Native.
  • Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
  • Implement best practices of test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, etc.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • 3+ years’ experience working as a Ruby on Rails Developer
  • 5+ years’ experience with front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JQuery
  • Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful. Experience working with 3rd party APIs a must.
  • Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (GitLab).
  • Familiarity with development aiding tools such as Bower, Bundler, Rake, etc.
